Snapchat now keeps only 5 GB of Memories for free. Beyond that, you pay or you export. SnapMemories turns your export into a real photo library: every photo and video gets its date, place and stickers back.
Snapchat does give your files back, just not in a shape a photo app understands. Here is what a real export looks like, and what SnapMemories fixes.

Reading your export
Pick or create a folder, for example “Snapchat Memories” in your Pictures. Memories already saved there are skipped.
This browser can't write into a folder, so you'll get ZIP files of 1 GB max. Chrome or Edge on a computer save straight into a folder.
Keep this tab open until the end.
Everything is sorted by year and month.
Downloads should start by themselves. If not, click each file.

Photos are not recompressed. Only the date and place information is added.
All the code is public on GitHub, so anyone can check what it does.
Nothing. No account, no ads, no subscription.
Your export never leaves your device. There is no server behind this page: it reads the ZIP files in your browser and writes the result to your disk.
Snapchat needs a few minutes to a few hours to prepare the export. After that, the time depends mostly on the size of your export and the speed of your disk.
That's normal for big exports. Drop all of them at the same time.
It works for small exports. For a big library, use a computer with Chrome or Edge.
Upload the folder you got. The date and place are read automatically.
Start again with the same folder: memories already saved are skipped.
Yes, for Windows. It's useful for very old exports that only contain download links.
